Lesson 4
Chakra Healing and Balancing
Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel” or “disk.” These spinning energy wheels are located in our subtle body, each one with its own vibrational frequency. They start at the base of our spine at the coccyx (the root chakra) and travel up to the top of our head (the crown chakra). The root chakra has the densest energy, and as you travel up the chakras, they become lighter in vibrational energy. Chakras communicate with cosmic energy; receiving, absorbing, and distributing vital life force. They transmit spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical life force. Our chakras can also act like sponges and absorb negative energy.
The traditional Hindu system names seven major chakras. Although there are more primary and secondary chakras, I will focus on the seven main ones. Each chakra relates to a different aspect of our physical body, mind, and soul, and is closely related with specific organs and endocrine glands. If a main chakra goes out of balance from being under or overworked, it can lead to a physical, mental, or emotional disturbance in the body. Chakras are part of a complete system. If one goes out of balance it can impact others, and, conversely, when you balance one, it can balance the others.
Chakras impact the flow of energy into our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. If one or more of our chakras are blocked, this will impact our health, along with providing valuable information. All we need to do is look at our life. For example, if we are experiencing lower back problems, this could be related to an imbalance in our root chakra.
Exercise
1. Chakra Healing
- Choose the first number that comes to you between 1-8
- Now pick the first color that comes to you
- Use they key below to determine which chakra(s)* you will focus on during the next two weeks*If two numbers or colors come to you, then you can work with both chakras and colors, as chakras are part of a whole system and they complement and support one another
- Choose a mantra that relates to the chakra you are working with
- Read chapter one and choose one clair to work with for the next two weeks
- Root Chakra, Red
- Sacral Chakra, Orange
- Solar Plexus Chakra, Yellow
- Heart Chakra, Green
- Throat Chakra, Blue
- Third Eye Chakra, Indigo
- Crown Chakra, Violet
For example, If your number was 2, then you will focus on the sacral chakra, which relates to relationships, creativity, and sexuality. If you chose 5 as your number, you will focus on the throat chakra, which corresponds to expression and speaking your truth. If you chose both 2 and 5, you can find the connection between the two chakras. The throat chakra supports the sacral chakra through outward expression, which could mean you need to experience your feelings and voice your truth, or express your creativity through using your voice.
Bridget’s Example
When doing this exercise, Bridget’s number was 6 and her color was Indigo. This is the third eye and relates to being able to see clearly in life, not only the things that we want to see. It also relates to Clairvoyance and being able to see into the energy world.
Mantra: I AM open to see clearly and profoundly into all areas of my life, and into the world of spirit and energy- and so it is!
2. Reflective Journal Prompts
During the next two weeks, take a moment to sit down with your journal, and start with three deep clearing breaths. When you are in a clear mind, write down your insights from these questions and reflections.
Allow yourself to write whatever comes to you. It may take several minutes before you want to answer these journal prompts. I invite you to keep writing. You may surprise yourself when you see what comes out on paper.
Chapter 1 & 4 Building your Spiritual Immunity – Guidance to Go Book
I recommend reading chapters one and four in Guidance to Go. Spiritual immunity helps us filter out the external, so that we have more positive resources to focus on what’s truly important to us and to build a strong foundation. If you don’t have it, you can buy the book here.
